NORTHERN Region Division One log leaders Simba Bhora now need three points from their last two matches to gain promotion into the top-flight.
This comes after the Shamva-based side laboured to a 1-0 victory against Harare City Cubs at Rufaro Stadium yesterday.
Second-half substitute Genius Saukila rifled home the all-important goal for Arthur Tutani’s side after 70 minutes.
The win pushed Simba Bhora to 69 points. They maintain a four-point gap advantage over second-placed Herentals, who beat Trojan Stars by a similar scoreline at Motor Action Sports Club.
Simba Bhora now need a win at home against Commando Bullets next weekend.
And their coach Tutani is confident his side will clinch the Ruyamuro Northern Region Soccer League championship in front of home fans at Wadzanai in Shamva.
“Congratulations to the Simba Bhora family for the win; tough luck Harare City Cubs,” said Tutani.
