GOLDEN Eagles and Simba Bhora were the only sides to claim a full set of points in the ZIFA Northern Region Division One Soccer League weekend fixtures.
Other five fixtures were drawn.
Golden Valley and PAM FC were the only sides to lose.
Herentals Under-20 were dislodged from the top of the table by Simba Bhora.
The Shamva side are just a point ahead after accumulating 52 points in 23 fixtures.
Gilbert Mushangazhike’s Eagles are still sitting third, just three points off the pace.
Going into the match, the Eagles had suffered a loss against PAM.
But, like true title contenders, they responded with a 2-1 win.
The Young Students have now gone two games without a victory, for the first time, in this campaign. Last week, they also shared the spoils with struggling Harare City Cubs.
Paul Benza’s men have occupied top spot for the better part of the season.
Simba Bhora ‘keeper Simbarashe Chinani, claimed his fourth clean sheet on the trot and this is the first time the Shamva side have achieved such a feat.
A club official also confirmed that veteran midfielder, Ali Sadiki, has penned a one-year contract.
Prior to his Simba move, Sadiki, was training with CAPS United.
